Testing the Principles. First, I think its wonderful that a blueprint has been created. Yet this is the culmination of MANY years of work that started with our ancient past. Darwinian evolution states that progress is gradual and linear, but for those familiar with Lemuria and Atlantis, this isn't our first time round the merry-go-round of Planet Earth. The church says, "believe us", we have the truth. Science says, test and find out, we could be wrong. Until there are individuals or communities which are able to produce everything from micro SDs to aircraft (using the UBUNTU principles), the framework remains potential. That is the beef I have about so many so called "charitable" organizations. Give us money, and we can do wonderful things. Easy! But how about APPLYING the principle of no money while attempting to implement the principle... of no money? HARD! Yet that is what I am attemting to do. It's tough slogging! Let me know if any of you are able to operate even one week, without using any money. It may look simple, ... until you need to buy that cup of coffee to get you going in the morning,... and realize you can't. Doh!
Energy Kool That would be wonderful "no money". You can try this one and see if it suits you http://nova-terra.org. But it appears there is not yet the time for "no money". THis will come later on the path of people remembering how to live together in peace. Once is peace, free travel everywhere, then maybe. But SD card? Plain? Let's begin with first steps like "clean water", "healthy food", "decent housing" for everybody in any community and maybe totally stress-less life. And from there we will see how it gets. I would go for such a project with only that. And not only me. There are already thousands making reality this every day. Sadly, I cannot find around me people alike, and alone is pretty difficult to start such a community. In Light <3

Energy Kool More, I don't remember have read anywhere that Ubuntu communities are self isolated. But anyone can shed more light on this. As far as I interpret from my perspective, the Ubuntu movement is formed by totally opened communities, towards themselves and also with the world so there might not be needed to produce everything in an Ubuntu community to start with. I use to call Ubuntu movement as "the political" approach towards the same common and widely spread goal to transform our society into a fair, transparent and full of abundance one, or the New Paradigm. There are many ways of approaching the same great goal. There are communities that formed already around the permaculture aspect. There are others that are formed already around the technological/permanent-cheap-energy aspect. But all these approaches are converging to the same great goal - the New Paradigm. Each of us can bring our grain to the whole big picture just if we feel so. In Light. <3
